I’m Gisela. Buyer’s advisor, former banker, psychologist, ex-expat, and the person who will protect your interests from the first conversation to the moment you receive your keys.

 

I didn’t arrive at real estate. I earned my way here.

My career has never followed a straight line and that’s not an accident. Before I became a buyer’s advisor, I spent years building exactly the skills this work demands.

I managed high-net-worth clients for a global premium bank in England and Scotland. I learned that when the stakes are high, people don’t want sales talk. They want honesty, precision, and someone who actually listens.

Then I became a CBT psychologist in Ireland, spending over a decade with clients navigating life’s most significant crossroads. That work rewired how I communicate. I understand pressure. I understand doubt. And I know how to help people make clear-headed decisions in complex moments.

I also built and ran a marketing agency, so I understand how markets work, how messaging is used to influence people, and how to cut through the noise on your behalf.

Banking. Psychology. Marketing. Then Portugal.

I looked mortality in the eye and chose purpose.

A few years ago, a serious surgical complication stopped me in my tracks. Not metaphorically. Literally. The kind of moment that strips away everything that doesn’t matter and leaves you very clear about everything that does.

I worked with a luxury international real estate agency on the West Coast before going independent. I’ve spent real time in these markets, not studying them from a desk, but walking the streets, reading the micro-markets, and developing the kind of local knowledge that takes years to build.

My business is based in Parque das Nações, one of Lisbon’s most dynamic and desirable districts. I know it the way a local does. Because I am one.

In Portugal’s property market, almost everyone you encounter works for the seller or at least has a financial interest in closing the deal. I don’t. I work exclusively for buyers. Which means my advice is never shaped by what’s convenient for someone else.

I’ve been exactly where you are.

I didn’t grow up as an expat, I became one by choice. I lived in England, Scotland, and Ireland for most of my adult life. I know the thrill of starting fresh somewhere new, and I know the very real anxiety that comes with navigating a foreign property market in a language that isn’t yours, under a legal system you don’t fully understand, from thousands of miles away.

That lived experience isn’t a footnote in my story. It’s the reason I do this work the way I do it.

One more thing: when I’m not deep in market research or neighbourhood due diligence, I’m usually exploring a new café, walking along the coast, or being supervised by Pukka — my cat, my colleague, and the only member of the team who works entirely for treats. She’s non-negotiable.
